Beamer Memorial Conservation Area
Beamer Memorial Conservation Area is just about an hour away from Toronto, about a half-hour from Ball's Falls. This was our first stop on our trip to New York.

There was very limited parking, so we had to wait a few minutes until someone left before we could park.

As soon as we got out of the car we realized how dumb we were for not bringing insect repellant for ourselves - we each got over 15 mosquito bites. Thankfully we care a little bit more about Adam than we do ourselves, so we slathered him in outdoor lotion which kept him from being eaten alive.

There was no bathrooms at the trail, at least not any we could enter without gagging. We therefore learned to change Adam's diaper in the car and just avoided going to the bathroom ourselves.
Beamer Memorial is most famous for bird-watching, however, we only stayed here for about an hour for a quick hike.
We did the Lookout trail. It was a simple loop with lots of trees and nature. At the beginning there was a beautiful vista of Lake Ontario, and we could see the skyline of downtown Toronto across the lake. The trail is 4.5 K and pretty easy terrain.

Some people used strollers on this hike, but the occasional tree roots makes it difficult.

It was a pleasant hike, but not one of our favourites.
